His group will provide computer labs, classrooms and counseling for jailed child gang members, help local women’s groups sell food in the seaside slum of Cite Soleil, and establish a youth scholarship and soccer program, Jean, who was named Haiti’s roving ambassador in January said
There could be more trouble ahead for Britney Spears in her custody battle. Kevin Federline’s lawyer says he may try to subpoena video footage that apparently shows the pop princess running a red light at a Hollywood Hills intersection while driving with their two young sons in the back seat.
Attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan says he’s weighing whether to seek a subpoena from the court Wednesday for the footage, which was posted on the celebrity news Web site TMZ.com. Separately, TMZ reported that it was contacted by Kaplan.
Kaplan declined further comment, but the footage could support his request to a Superior Court commissioner to stop Spears from driving when her sons are in her car.
A message left for an attorney for Spears, Anne Kiley, wasn’t immediately returned Monday.
Spears’ driving has been an ongoing problem for her.
In 2006, she was photographed driving with Sean Preston on her lap, and authorities visited her home to investigate.
Last month, she pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid driver’s license. A misdemeanor hit-and-run charge from an August parking lot crash was dismissed after she paid an undisclosed amount to the car’s owner.
Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, were married in October 2004. The two have wrangled in court over custody issues since they split. Their divorce was final in July.
New Details: Kanye West’s Mother Dies
2Some new details are emerging about the death Saturday night of Donda West, the mother of Kanye West.
Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center vice president Deborah Ettinger says Donda West stopped breathing at her home and was taken to Centinela Freeman by paramedics.
Ettinger says hospital staff tried to resuscitate her, but were unsuccessful.
A coroner’s official said earlier that West may have died of complications related to a surgical procedure.
Ettinger says that surgery was not performed at Centinela Freeman.
It was not immediately clear what hospital she had the surgery at or what it was for.
Donda West’s one-time publicist Patricia Green told news agencies that West died after cosmetic surgery.
But she backed away from those comments in later interviews with the AP, saying she was not sure of the cause because she had received conflicting information.
Donda West was known for the strong bond she shared with her son, by whose side she was often seen at parties and award shows.
Kanye West, 30, often spoke of his close relationship with his mother, who raised him alone after her husband left when Kanye was 3. She was the inspiration for the song, “Hey Mama,” on Kanye West’s 2005 album “Late Registration,” in which he sings: “Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I’m so proud of you … I appreciate what you allowed for me. I just want you to be proud of me.”
Wyclef Jean Gives Back In Haiti
Wyclef Jean is giving back to his native land, Haiti.
His Yele Haiti charity will fund several programs for kids on the Caribbean island. His group will provide computer labs, classrooms and counseling for jailed child gang members, help local women’s groups sell food in the seaside slum of Cite Soleil, and establish a youth scholarship and soccer program, Jean, who was named Haiti’s roving ambassador in January said.
“If you want to change a country, unfortunately, you’re not going to be able to help 8 million people at one time,” the 35-year-old singer told reporters. “But if you can get one or two or three and start to make that change, that will make the difference.”
Britney Fails Drug Test? Mom Hires Manager
3TMZ.com reports that Britney Spears failed one of her drug tests, although the Web site’s source claims it was a false reading.
Britney has other concerns. Her ex-husband’s attorney told TMZ that he will subpoena a story the site ran about the “Gimme More” singer running a red light with her sons in the car. A TMZ video shows Spears texting just seconds before she ran through the light.
Meanwhile, last week, Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, told Life & Style magazine that she blames herself for her daughter’s troubles. Now Lynne, who is penning a memoir called “Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” has hired her own manager, according to the New York Post’s Page Six. Britney is being managed by her friend, Sam Lufti.

Police Raid Caused By Winehouse’s Hubby
5Police raided Amy Winehouse’s London home, but the singer’s spokesman said she was not there at the time, and drugs were not involved.
Photographs printed Friday in British newspapers showed police officers using a crowbar to force open the door of the singer’s home in the Camden district of north London.
“The only thing I can tell you is that it has nothing to do with drugs and that Amy is fine and she has not been charged or arrested,” spokesman Shane O’Neill said.
The Metropolitan Police said there had been “police activity” at the house on Thursday as part of an investigation into allegations of perverting the course of justice.
Police said four men — two aged 25, one 22 and one 19 — had been arrested in connection with the investigation. The force would not say whether Fielder-Civil, 25, was among them.
Retro soul singer Winehouse has won worldwide acclaim for her second album, “Back to Black,” but has also made headlines through erratic behavior, health fears and reports of heavy drug use. In August she spent time in rehab and canceled a series of performances in Britain, the United States and Canada.
Last month Winehouse and Fielder-Civil were arrested in Norway and fined US$700 for possession of marijuana.
Another Parting For Heather Mills
Heather Mills has parted company with the law firm that had represented her in her divorce from former Beatle Paul McCartney, the firm said Friday.
Shimon Cohen, of Mishcon de Reya Solicitors, confirmed news reports that the firm was no longer representing her, but declined as a matter of policy to say why or when it ceased to do so.
Mishcon de Reya represented Princess Diana in her divorce from Prince Charles, whose divorce lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, is representing McCartney.
Mills McCartney also recently lost her media spokesman, Phil Hall, because of her decision to give television interviews in which she criticized the media and McCartney.
In another TV interview on Thursday, Mills McCartney said last week’s interviews were “cathartic.”
